NZ Design Student Chosen for International Honour

Design student Josh Wallace has earned a place at the world’s largest student design conference. Josh will represent UCOL’s Whanganui School of Design at the 2009 AGIdeas conference in Melbourne in May 2009. He will be one of an international group of student committee members, from selected, high achieving design schools around the world.

The Asia New Zealand Foundation Young Leaders Forum brings together outstanding young people, aged 20 to 34, from New Zealand and Asia for a week-long programme beginning on November 16. Selected through a competitive application process, the 37 participants have each demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to furthering New Zealand-Asia relations.

The Academy of the Royal Society of New Zealand has announced the election of 10 new Fellows. The research of the new Fellows reveals the diversity and breadth in the innovative science that is being carried out in New Zealand across the range of our Universities and scientific institutes. Six of the new Fellows come from Universities and four from Crown Research Institutes.
