Day 9

Day 9 started at Lincoln University with a presentation from the Vice Chancellor. Then it was a visit to the Entomology Lab to see some of the many varieties of insects and learn a few amazing facts (did you know that 95% of New Zealand insects are native only to NZ?)

The students also got to meet a Japanese student who showed them his research on establishing reliable data for possum population.

Then it was a tour of Lincoln's Vineyard where the students tried their hand at picking (and eating) some grapes.

Onto to Lincoln's Winery where the students got to see first hand what Lincoln's Viticulture and Oenology students study as they had a go at the wine making process.
Then it was lunch at Lincoln's dining hall and a visit to Lincoln's tallest building to see the panoramic views of the campus and the Canterbury Plains.
After yet another shopping break, it was off to Hamilton to visit Waikato University where the students got to meet the Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor.

Then is was dinner at Hamilton's 'Palate' restaurant.
