Graduate Diploma in Journalism
This course is available at the following AUT University campuses:
Auckland
Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, with 1.3 million people.
The Graduate Diploma in Journalism is for students who have completed a tertiary qualification and wish to enter the media industry. It is also suitable for people with relevant work experience wanting to increase their skills. This one-year full time programme attracts focused students who gain the basic professional skills which the media demands on day one of employment. Students also study the theoretical and technological knowledge required to understand the role of the media in New Zealand society.
Classes are coordinated with the Journalism majors, in their third year of the BCS. Graduate Diploma in Journalism students are scheduled for 17-18 class contact hours per week. Students would normally spend at least this same amount of time again on self-directed study.
