The Diploma in Engineering (Transportation) is a diploma (similar to the more general Diploma in Engineering) which is specifically directed towards transportation engineering (traffic engineering, transport and land use planning, highway engineering, pavement materials and management systems, road safety and crash investigation). It is available to those with some work experience and/or qualifications in transportation within the following disciplines: Engineering, Science, and Planning
This course is intended for professional scientists, planners, engineers, persons with a Bachelors degree but not in engineering, persons with a professional qualification in engineering, science or planning, and persons with practical experience in transportation who are not graduates.
This 14-point diploma requires coursework listed in the Course Schedule to the Degree of Master of Engineering, other than Project or Thesis work. The programme of study for each student requires the specific approval of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. The Diploma of Engineering (Transportation) is normally undertaken on a part-time basis over a two-(or more) year period. In exceptional circumstances, the Diploma can be completed on a full-time basis of one
