The MPlanPrac is a two-year professional qualification, accredited by the New Zealand Planning Institute and meets the professional educational requirements for qualification as a planner.
As a professional qualification, the content of the papers available covers the fields of planning theory, techniques, law and practice. The MPlanPrac graduate is qualified for careers in a range of planning fields, including resource management, health, community development, and housing, in the public and private sectors.
The MPlanPrac is a two-year degree and requires that the candidate pass papers with a total value of 28 points. The programme offers the flexibility for candidates to take papers from other Departments or Faculties. Entry to the degree is open to anyone with an undergraduate degree provided this is indicative of ability to undertake advanced study in planning.
