Jed Rau

Jed never even considered studying overseas until he met a New Zealander at his home university of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. "Now I'd say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made."

Because the University of Canterbury is home to the New Zealand School of Forestry, Jed knew that he'd be able to take all of the courses he needed for his Forestry degree back home. "I didn't even apply anywhere else!"

"Living in Christchurch there is such a wide variety of things to do in such a short distance hiking, biking, swimming, skiing. And the South Island has so many landscapes plains, mountains, rainforests, beaches. What more could you want?"

Jed says he'd recommend studying abroad to anyone. "But be prepared to change because you won't go home the same person you left, you'll be better."
