Nguyen Quoc Khanh

Khanh is no stranger to New Zealand. He came to New Zealand originally to study English in Wellington. "I was offered a place in Electrical Engineering at the University of Canterbury and I've been living in Christchurch for a year so I decided to study here."

On the basis of his outstanding results in the Foundation Studies Programme the Engineering faculty recognised Khanh's talent in the subject and advanced him a year. "My engineering subjects are close to real world and very challenging. The Foundation and Engineering faculties are great. My chemistry teacher from Foundation Studies, Jan Wikaira was great support and encouraged me to do well. Chris Beard, my English teacher was a good mentor and was always there to listen."

Having those influences has helped Khanh go forward and succeed in his studies. In his spare time, he occasionally plays social club football. After he finishes his degree, he plans to stay in New Zealand and work to build his experience.
