When one door closes, another opens for Chinese student Shen Li. After missing the enrolment dates for universities in New Zealand, Shen decided to study the Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (DipICT) at the Polytechnic.
After enjoying the DipICT, the twenty-two year old moved on to the Bachelor of Computing Systems, which he completed successfully in 2007.
“My ultimate job is to be a website developer,” he says. “I want to complete my degree, get my Masters and work for my father.”
He attributes his success in study to the help given by tutors and staff.
In hindsight Shen is happy he missed the university enrolment dates. “I’m really glad I came to study here.”
