I’m in my first year studying at AUT. I decided to come to AUT because it offered me flexibility with regardto my start date, along with the programme I wanted to study in a beautiful country that I wanted to see.

I’m in a class of 30 students where the focus is on sharing experiences and ideas. The classes are very discussion-based, which encourages questioning and opinion in a comfortable, communal learning environment. The teachers are passionate with a desire to share their success and experiences. They treat us as professionals and challenge us to operate from a ‘best practice’ perspective.

I love living in Auckland – it has the big city feel without the big city hassles. Transit is easy whether by bus, car, or on foot. It is an accessible city and a great jumping-off point for seeing the rest of the country.

New Zealand is one of the most gorgeous countries I have ever seen. Every weekend can be an adventure. Getting away for the weekend is easy, whether heading north to the Bay of Islands, south to Taupo and Rotorua, or west to Piha. In most cases, these destinations are only a few driving hours away. Outdoor activities such as hiking treks, rafting, or lying on the beach are readily available.
