- Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) offers certificate, diploma and degree programmes
- You can enter at the level that best suits your qualifications and experience
- Our programmes are structured so you can proceed from certificate to diploma and degree levels
- MIT degrees have equal status to university qualifications

- The University of Auckland at Manukau programme allows students to study Auckland University degrees on MIT's campus (BBIM and BVA)
Academic Year
The academic year consists of two half-year semesters: February-June and July-November. There is a holiday of three weeks between semesters.
English Language Requirements
For most mainstream programmes, students are expected to have a good standard of English - TOEFL 550, IELTS 6.0. Our excellent English Language School teaches English at all levels and prepares you for mainstream programmes.
International Education Centre
The staff at MIT's International Education Centre assist and give help when you need it. They will advise you on programme selection and personal issues, arrange your accommodation and can counsel you on budgeting. They will do everything necessary to make your stay in New Zealand and MIT an enjoyable experience. All international students are encouraged to call on the international staff for guidance and advice.
New students are welcomed and shown around the campus in the week before the start of the academic year. The International Education Centre organises special occasions and social activities that will help you meet other international students, local students and staff.
Hi-Tech Facilities
MIT has a high ratio of computers to students. Computer and laboratory facilities are available to students Monday to Saturday.
Accommodation
Homestay
Our Homestay Service enables you to become part of a caring New Zealand household or family. You are met at the airport and taken directly to your
homestay family. Homestay costs per week
(incl meals): $175.
Campus
MIT has a 'Student Village'� on campus. There are 13 houses with 9 students to a house. In these houses each student has a single room furnished with a single bed, desk, wardrobe, bed linen and storage space. Each room has a heater, computer connection and handbasin. Each house has a kitchen, dining, a lounge for relaxation, laundry, toilets and shower facilities. The houses are self-catering and students enjoy organising their houses themselves. Costs: $110 per week (accommodation only).
