Logan Park High School
Logan Park is a very special school. It's known as Dunedin's performance arts school, even though you can study any subject. And it certainly is Dunedin's friendly school. But what else makes it so special?

Dunedin - Coastal Otago
Dunedin is the main centre of the Otago Region, in New Zealand’s south.
Logan Park is a very special school. It's known as Dunedin's performance arts school, even though you can study any subject. And it certainly is Dunedin's friendly school. But what else makes it so special?
It's the wonderful students who are the very life of the school. A recent survey of students showed that the overwhelming majority actually enjoyed being at school.
And why not? Imagine arriving at school to be greeted by a chorus of bellbirds … period one doing PE at the best athletics track in the city which is right across the road … (as a senior) maybe taking a class at polytech or the university …. and having one of your paintings hung in a hallway for future generations to enjoy.
Logan Park is co-ed and multi-cultural. We have about 35 international students in a roll of about 600. Our international students come from many countries and bring colour and vibrancy to the school community.
Our reputation for academic excellence was enhanced in 2006 when 14 students from Logan Park were awarded national university scholarships, one of the highest number from a Dunedin school. These included first in NZ in Maths with Statistics, and two top scholar awards for three scholarships per student (Maths with Calculus, Maths with Stats, Physics and Economics). Scholarships were also won in English, History and Biology. In 2005, one student was placed first in NZ in Physics with one top scholar award. Students have also won prizes in Chamber Music, Jazz, Rock Music, Dance, Speech, Drama, Maths, Climbing, Soccer, Futsal (Indoor Soccer), Hockey, Ice Hockey, Basketball and Touch Rugby.
Students are encouraged to take part in sport and cultural activities. There are many clubs and sports codes they can join. Our reputation in sport is also a proud one, with Logan Park producing the highest number of Olympic athletes at the last game of any school in the country.
International students have the opportunity to go on four trips during the school year. They visit some of the most beautiful parts of the South Island, made famous by the Lord of the Rings films. The trips include tramping, kayakking, camping, skiing or snowboarding and are led by experienced teachers and staff.
International students wishing to enter our senior school should have at least pre-intermediate level English. They are advised to enter atyear 12 or earlier to achieve the best possible outcome in University bursary examinations.
