Currently studying Electronic Engineering at the Wellington Institute of Technology, Timmy Nip is focusing on a long-term career in Electronics.
His current Diploma course is a two-year foundation course, giving him grounding in the basic principles of electronics. This was preceded by a New Zealand secondary education, which his parents decided was the best start for Timmy a great opportunity to develop his English language skills, and learn about the New Zealand way of life.
Next step for Timmy is university education, hopefully still in New Zealand this will be an easy transition for Timmy, given his Diploma course in Wellington.
Timmy has enjoyed the New Zealand lifestyle, currently living in a home stay organised by the school so he can enjoy family life. His only complaint which he mentions with a laugh - is getting adjusted to different foods. Do you like licorice? My host family love licorice. I tasted it and it's so strong!
Interestingly, Timmy's New Zealand education and career goals have been coincidentally aligned with fellow Hong Kong student, Chris Chan. Timmy first met Chris at his New Zealand High School in Napier, and the two students have become good friends. To read Chris's story, search in the student database for Chris Chan from Hong Kong.

Wellington is New Zealand’s capital city. It’s full of cafes, bars and theatres and has a beautiful harbour.
