Hi! I am Kirsten from Hong Kong. I graduated from Colenso last year and have already started studying Law at University in Wellington this year. It is tough to study at University because I have to write a lot of essays, exams and tests.
I found that studying at Colenso for two years was good preparation for me to study at university here. I learned a lot of New Zealand culture and most importantly, my English improved a lot. I found that the teachers at Colenso are really nice and helpful. They helped me a lot to get through all of my assessments. The education environment is very different from what I had in Hong Kong. Napier is a great place to study at high school level.

I played the violin at school, and during my second year at Colenso I was the orchestra leader. We toured around the region and played at lots of different schools. The International Students also go on trips each year. I had a wonderful trip to Coramandel and some of the students went on a ski trip.

I have to say that studying abroad is definitely not easy. I had to learn how to cope with the cultural shock and stuff like that. But, I am sure that I will never forget my experiences of studying at William Colenso College and what I learned will be useful throughout my life!
