The University of Auckland Certificate of Foundation Studies belongs to the University of Auckland and is exclusively delivered by ACG New Zealand International College. Successful completion of the Certificate in Foundation Studies guarantees entry into The University of Auckland and is accepted by all New Zealand universities.

  • The University of Auckland Certificate of Foundation Studies is exclusively delivered by ACG International College.
  • The programme is designed to prepare international students who wish to enter university in New Zealand.
  • Successful completion of the Certificate in Foundation Studies guarantees entry into The University of Auckland and is accepted by all New Zealand universities.
  • There are four starting dates each year. The Standard and Extended Entries start in late January and mid-July while the fast-track programme commences in late April and early October.
  • There is a post-foundation programme for students who would benefit from an additional half year of study.
  • Students select four or five subjects plus IELTS preparation and Information and Communication skills.
  • The University of Auckland Certificate in Foundation Studies takes between 8 and 18 months to complete.
    Students select 4 or 5 subjects plus English.

Standard Entry (12 months) (Minimum English Entry IELTS 5.0 or equivalent)
• The programme offers a choice of subjects, including Accounting, Economics, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, Desig, and Biology .
• Painting, Print-making or Photography are also available
• A special programme of IELTS Examination Preparation and Study and Information Skills prepares students for study at tertiary level

Fast Track Entry (8/9 months) (Minimum English Entry IELTS 5.5 or equivalent)
• The programme offers a choice of subjects, including Accounting, Economics, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology
• A special programme of IELTS Examination Preparation and Study and Information Skills prepares students for study at tertiary level

Extended Entry (18 months) (Minimum English Entry IELTS 4.5 or equivalent)
• The programme prepares students to enter the standard one-year programme
• Designed for students who have IELTS 4.5 and/or their academic record is below the minimum stated academic entry requirement

2014: Thursday 23 January & Monday 28 July

Post Foundation (5/6 months) (Minimum English Entry IELTS 5.0 or equivalent)
• Specifically designed for students who have completed either Year 13 in a NZ high school or a foundation studies programme and have narrowly failed to obtain entrance to a NZ university
