Design and Arts College of New Zealand

Established in the 1983, Design & Arts College of New Zealand (D&A) is the South Island's only tertiary institute dedicated to arts and design education. D&A is New Zealand government funded and registered.

D&A offers a wide range of specialist design and arts programmes from Certificate, Diploma, to Degree level. There are 7 major disciplines in the college: Fine Arts, Contemporary Photography, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Architectural Design, Fashion Design, Make up design & production.

Our purpose is to give students access to employment and further education opportunities through the provision of high quality, intensive, industry focussed design and arts education. Our courses are designed and taught by industry professionals, to ensure your success in the creative industries. Our commitment to bringing industry professionals into the classroom to be your tutors and mentors ensures that what students learn today is relevant tomorrow.

D&A is one of the few design & arts institutes to place an emphasis on real world scenarios in its education and training, through design briefs, internships and work experience. Thousands of D&A graduates are now working as professionals in their field in New Zealand and around the world.

D&A is located right in the heart of Christchurch City within walking distance of shops, art galleries, public transport and library. The College offers students classrooms and studios that are equipped with industry-standard equipments.

Entry criteria is flexible as the college does not rely solely on academic qualifications. Tuition fee for international student is NZ$13,500 per academic year. Foundation Certificate NZ$6,500.
