For one hundred years Palmerston North Boys' High School has created a safe environment in which to provide a traditional education for young men. It is one of New Zealand's foremost schools in academic, sporting, music and cultural activities, enjoying regular national and international success. Palmerston North is a provincial University city and the school's ethos, based on the pursuit of personal success, is geared academically towards tertiary study

Curriculum
International students are�accepted in Years 9 to 13. Students who wish to enrol in Year 11 or higher need to have English ability at IELTS 5.0 or TOEL 450 level.
Subjects available are:
English as a Second Langauge is offered at all levels - Class sizes are approximately 10-15 and all classes do English Achievement Standards or Unit Standards NOT ESL Unit Standards
At Year 13 level (University Entrance)
Accounting, Art, Art History, Biology, Chemistry, Classical Studies, English, French, German, Geography, History, Horticulture, Japanese, Mathematics with Calculus, Mathematics with Statistics, Maori, Music, Physical Education, Physics and Photography.
At Year 12 level
All of the above, plus Automotive Engineering, Construction Skills, Design Technology, Transition, Drama, Electronics, Journalism, Media Studies, Mathematics
Years 11,10 and 9 follow the standard New Zealand curriculum
Extracurricular Activities
The following activities are available to all students.
Arts: Chamber Music, Choral Groups, Concert Band, Junior Drama production, Senior Drama production combined with Girls' High School, Bands, Choirs, Kapa Haka (Maori culture)

School Fees (Per Annum) NZ$12,200
Homestay Placement fee (includes airport pick-up) NZ$150
Homestay Fees (Per Annum) NZ$10,000 approx ($215 per week - $30 per week if away on holiday - this does not include the Christmas holidays)
School Uniform, Stationery,� NZ$1,000
Tuition fees include all material used in the teaching of classes, and school camps (Year 10 and Year 13) �but exclude stationery (except for Years 9 and 10) feild trips, extra curricular activities and uniforms.
There is no refund of fees except in very exceptional circumstances.
- Homestay accommodation can be arranged by the School, but if private arrangements are made, the School Homestay Co-ordinator will visit and supervise these to ensure suitability.
- Medical/travel insurance is compulsory� costing approximately NZ$500 for 12 months.
- All students must have a guardian in New Zealand, the school can provide this service.
