The Institute of Applied Learning (IAL) is located in Otahuhu where the opportunity to mix with Kiwis of diverse ethnicity is high. The school owns their building which is close to main transportation and highways. IAL has been operating since 1988 and is owned by the same director who started the company. IAL offers diplomas and certificates in Computing, Business, Hospitality Managment, Hospitlatiy & Tourism, Contact Centre and Helath Care. IAL is a Microsoft IT Academy and has many graduates who have received work visas and permanent residency.

Incorporated in 1988, the Institute of Applied Learning (IAL) is registered and accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority to deliver quality tertiary training throughout New Zealand. IAL offers a wide range of National Certificates and Diplomas, plus sought-after international qualifications, like CompTIA A+, Network+, I-Net +, and Microsoft Certification (MCSA, MCSE, MCSD, MCDBA, MOUS).
IAL has a well-equipped campus in Auckland, at 42 Atkinson Ave, Otahuhu The campus is near public transport, eating places and shopping. Our campus is in the heart of a large Pacific Island Community area of Auckland but only a few minutes to many points of interest.
IALs student population is diverse with international and domestic students, ranging in age from 18to 60. Some of our learners are school-leavers and some are mature students and the rest vary. We have learners who haveno qualifications and others with several.
We approach learning with a mix of academic components, cultural experiences and extra-curricular activities. Our aim is to provide students with knowledge, skills and attitude to succeed in their chosen careers. Several courses include industry work experience (paid and unpaid) before graduation. Tutors have both academic and industry experience.
IAL is a signatory to the Code of Practice for Pastoral Care. Our support staff has experience dealing with people across the range of our diverse population. We are prepared to take the extra steps in assisting all our students to achieve their potential. We also keep parents and agents informed on the student performance and attendance.
