Established in 1863 Otago Boys' High School is one of New Zealand's oldest and most famous schools. It has an international reputation for academic excellence as well as great success in sport and cultural activities. OBHS has 900 boys and they are all encouraged to explore the diversity of opportunities in the classroom , music, art and drama as well as on the sports field. Dunedin is the main centre of the Otago Region, in New Zealand’s south.

Otago Boys' High School is located in Dunedin -a student city ( population 120,000) in which the main focus is education. Students make up 20% of the population and they provide the city with a lively and dynamic atmosphere. OBHS is located close to the central business district of Dunedin and all major facilities including libraries, Otago University, restaurants and the shopping area are very close to the school. The school year starts in late January and finishes early December. There are four terms with two week holiday breaks in April,July and September.
