The school is located in the town of Pukekohe, which has 20,000 people and is 50 kilometres south of Auckland City and 20 minutes by car from Auckland's International Airport. Pukekohe High School has 1650 students. Approximately 1.5% come from overseas countries. There are places for up to 40 full fee-paying students from overseas.

Our aim is to help overseas students improve in all areas of the English language. Classes are small and students receive individual assistance from trained and experienced ESOL teachers. Courses include:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) preparation course.
  • ESOL (English for speakers of other languages). A full programme is available for all students at all levels.
  • Students are assessed on arrival
  • Academic courses that prepare students to sit New Zealand school examinations and to gain entry to New Zealand universities and polytechnics.
  • Each student's academic progress, attendance and adjustment to Pukekohe High School is closely monitored and reported to parents.

International students must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand.
