About Us Chisnallwood Intermediate is a government registered co-educational day school specifically designed to prepare New Zealand and international students for Secondary School. Located in the Eastern suburbs of Christchurch, the school is only minutes from the beach, city centre and numerous golf courses and parks. Special Character
With a roll of 815 students aged 10-13, the school accepts full and part year fee paying students and also offers short term English language programmes involving education, tourism and adventure for groups of any age. All short-term programmes are specifically designed to meet group needs. The school is sited on a large campus with excellent facilities and resources.
Extracurricular Programmes
A full range of extracurricular options are available. these include outdoor activities such as yachting, skiing, kayaking, tramping at the school's own outdoor education centre and many other sport and specialty options.
Music Study
Chisnallwood is a school of music excellence. Under the guidance of an outstanding Director, 20 music teachers offer tuition in a wide range of instruments. The school has groups studying jazz, chamber, orchestral, rock, choral vocal and many more.
Student Welfare
Chisnallwood provides a full time International Programme Director who will ensure the curriculum and welfare support of all the international students. Chisnallwood employs support staff to offer support in the language of the visiting student. Regular meetings ensure that the students are happy andachieving at their best while studying at our school.
