“New Zealand seemed an ideal place for me to further my tourism education. When I began to narrow down my options, Lincoln’s strong grounding in tourism was very attractive.
“Traditionally, studies in tourism look at the industry itself, but I am interested in the impacts tourism can have on cultures and the environment, and how these can be mitigated to benefit areas of rural development.
“Long-term dependency on tourism relies upon protecting a community’s environment and culture - particularly in developing areas.”
