I hesitated about studying abroad before I came to New Zealand. I worried about money, meeting new people and a new life situation. I lacked confidence in studying. However, I made up my mind and have never regretted coming here. At first my goal was small: I just wanted to practise conversation, but later I decided to study IELTS and go to university in New Zealand. I never wrote English when I lived in Korea. I thought that if I used wrong grammar, people might neglect me. However, this was far from the truth. Maverick School language teachers are better than I thought. They always encouraged me to speak English and made sure that all students are achieving their goals in class. I arrived in New Zealand on 20 August 2007 and started in a pre-intermediate class. By December I had greatly improved my IELTS score, by studying full-time. I found it really important to speak English at every opportunity. I would recommend other students to study at Maverick School. All the staff are approachable and helpful. International students are warmly welcomed in Dunedin. Maverick School is small but easy to approach and the school is flexible to different students' needs.Don't only think, you have to act!
