It wasn't just a trip to New Zealand. Not just being away from home. No, it was way more than that. The stay/adventure is an important part of my life and an experience I will never forget. When I arrived in New Zealand, everything was so new and different to what I am used to. But the Kiwis are really upfront and it was easy to settle in. I really loved going to Western Heights High School. The students simplified the first days with helping and showing me around, if I asked them. At the beginning, it wasn't easy to find everything in the big school. The teachers were really nice, they helped me a lot if I didn't understand. And after a while I felt comfortable there. What I liked the most at the school was that we could choose 4 subjects we liked, beside English and Math. I chose, Art, Fabric Technology, Music Technology and Graphics. Every subject was really interesting, but the best subject was art. I learned so much and I love painting and drawing, so that I could even do it at home. But not just the school was great. Also to live on a farm was an exciting experience. I loved the handling of the animals. The horses I liked handling the most. And that I could ride so often was awesome. It was so much fun to ride through the wonderful landscape of New Zealand. Going on competitions on the weekend was a great experience. The best was riding the cross-country. We don't have something like this in Germany.It is just so sad that the half - year is over now. But I am sure I will come back to New Zealand as soon as possible. I miss New Zealand, the people there and the most of all my lovely host family.
