YAN Fei comes from China. He undertook the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 6) at Canterbury College, an NZQA accredited programme which the college offers in partnership with Aoraki Polytechnic.
Yan Fei found the New Zealand study environment very different from the one he had experienced at home. In China, the study timetable and environment is very structured and supportive, so it is easier for students to focus on their required study. In New Zealand, it took Yan Fei time to adjust to the freedom of organising his own study schedule outside classtimes. Gradually, he developed his own goals for the success he wanted to achieve in life.
His teachers commented: “Yan Fei’s latest marks in Accounting Principles show that he has the ability to pass and also illustrate a good command of English. Yan Fei could succeed at his chosen subjects with self-discipline and application”.
