Once Tavake Na’a added the letters MBA to his name, the job offers came pouring in.

After graduating from the AIS St Helens MBA programme he moved to Sydney early last year and quickly landed a job as an Account Manager in the Sydney office of I.T. company, Drake International.

The confident 29-year-old spent a year there before working as a freelance consultant and has recently been snapped up by Intercall, a multinational corporation dealing with audio/Internet conferencing for Asia Pacific.

Tavake is now a Business Development Executive, earning big bucks in a high-powered job, which involves meeting clients, promotions, marketing and establishing company infrastructure.

Holding very much an “international outlook”, Tavake says his two years of study were invaluable for his career, and AIS St Helens was the perfect choice as it boasts students from all corners of the globe. “I really wanted to get into the international focus after my MBA. It helped me a lot to be exposed to that in my classes rather than joining the workforce and getting a shock,” he says.

Tavake’s MBA research project looked at the impact of cultural diversity and management leadership within multinational corporations.

However his student days are not just a distant memory. Building on his already significant achievements, Tavake is about to begin a Professional Doctorate with Central Queensland University.
