CPIT is renowned for providing students with a quality learning experience, and for Jou-An Chen, the close relationship she has with her tutors has made all the difference to her study.

“The relationship CPIT teaching staff have with their students is closer, more relaxed and fun compared to back home in Taiwan. The tutors are friendly and CPIT has good learning services such as the library,” she said.

“I also really like Christchurch and the South Island. The air is fresh, everyone is very friendly and helpful, and it’s easy to get around. Often, I’ll have dinner with other international students, go to the movies or travel to places like Queenstown in the South Island.”

When Jou-An graduates with her qualification in hospitality, with the help of CPIT she plans to work in a hotel and gain as much experience as she can before moving back to Taiwan. For now, however, she is happy to be studying at CPIT and meeting new people.

“I’m happy to be back at CPIT after the earthquake and to see that all my friends are fine and happy to be back as well.”
