Dominion is a New Zealand owned company and are located Downtown in Auckland and Christchurch. Dominion never closes (except public holidays). Students can transfer between schools. There is a maximum of 155 students in each school: large enough to have 8 levels of English; small enough for everyone to be your friend. There are Teenage Schools for students 14 years - 17 years and Senior Schools for students 18 years +. There is a Silvers Programme for students 50 years +.
Last year students from 33 countries studied English at Dominion: 50% were Asian, 45% were European.
At Dominion English Schools there are kitchens where students can make light meals (free tea / coffee is available at all times); a library and quiet study area; a recreation room with pool and piano; a multi media centre; free access to e-mail and internet. Dominion is Government Registered as a Private Training Establishment. Dominion is a signatory to the Ministry of Education Code of Practice for the Recruitment, Welfare and Support of International Students.

Dominion English Schools at its schools in Auckland and Christchurch, has working holiday assistance centres, to assist students to find employment, and to provide advice (accommodation, minimum wages, tax rules, workers' rights, employers' responsibilities, etc).
Dominion English Schools' welfare officers monitor all accommodation. Homestay with a New Zealand family. Breakfast and dinner Mondays to Fridays. Breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. Single room. Laundry provided. Only one student of each nationality in the house (unless otherwise requested).
For students 50 years +
A separate lounge for relaxation away from younger students when desired. Free postcards and writing materials. A Dominion staff member is assigned to be your "buddy" while you are in New Zealand, to assist you to enjoy New Zealand.
A home stay with host families with your interests (wherever possible).
Native speaking mentors available if any medical assistance is required.
Activities
The Dominion English Schools cultural, social and sporting activity programme has been designed to enable students to meet New Zealanders, enjoy their New Zealand experience, and share their cultures with other students. Activities are arranged every afternoon, every weekend and after school. Every week there is a social evening, free activities on Friday afternoon and a weekly free tv/video movie. Dominion staff regularly go to the theatre and restaurants with students, as well as joining students at pub evenings.
