Whangaparaoa College has the most modern facilities of any school in New Zealand which includes:
- An outstanding Performing Arts Centre incorporating drama and music rooms and a large modern performing space.
- A specialist recording studio.
- A well-equipped sports centre with a large gymnasium as well as a number of other teaching spaces including a fitness centre.
- A modern/large science, technology and arts building,with 24 classrooms.
- A specific teaching block for year 7 & 8 learners.
- Teacher blocks for general classroom space.
- An excellent adventure playground for 7 & 8 learners.
- A large all weather playing surface with six tennis courts.
- Four full-size playing fields, two of which are sand carpeted.
Academic Programme
Whangaparaoa College has an innovative and challenging curriculum that includes both academic subjects which can lead students to a university education and specific thinking skills and learning behaviours. ICT is integrated into all learning.
The New Zealand academicyear runs from February until December. We have four 10 week terms a year.
