University of Otago Language Centre

The University of Otago Language Centre, owned by the University of Otago, is located in a new building in the heart of the university campus. It boasts facilities that are superior in both appearance and function, with a floor plan that was specifically designed for the learning and social needs of English language students, as well as the efficient administration of a Language Centre. With top class facilities provided, including a large student common room, suite of Macintosh computers, Independent Learning Centre and digital language laboratory, access is also available to the gymnasium, libraries and cafes on campus.

The Centre offers courses in General English, English for Academic Purposes, English for Otago University, English for Teachers, and preparation for the IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC examinations.

Classes are taught by experienced, highly qualified and committed teachers who contribute enormously to the excellent reputation of the UOLC.

Course Details

• Four terms of 11-12 weeks
• 22.5 hours of tuition per week
• 14 hours of self-access study available outside of class time per week
• 15 students per class
• Students may commence any Monday
