International
The College hosts international students from a wide variety of countries. Students come to study at the College on a short-term and long-term basis and are accommodated in College-administered homestays. The College has a long association with students from all over the world and regularly facilitates international sports and cultural exchanges. Currently, there are students from Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Special facilities for international students
International students enjoy their own kitchen/recreation room, have access to their own computer suit and are looked after by dedicated International Department staff.
Trips
Many opportunities are organised for all international students to take part in day trips to tourist destinations like Rotorua, Mt. Maunganui, Lake Taupo. A specific adventure camp and ski trip are organised for international students every year.
Study
Students are able to choose from over 70 courses at 5 different levels. Traditional subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, Art and English are especially strong. More practical subjects such as Engineering, Welding, Web Design, Video Production and Hospitality / Catering are also offered. It is also possible to study at university level in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry through Waikato University at the College.
Outdoor Education
Outdoor education is an integral part of the senior curriculum and provides students with an exciting range of opportunities and activities. Established in 2000, the programme consists of the study of adventure pursuits, development of inter-personal skills and personal qualities that build confidence and skills. Students take advantage of Tauranga's unique location which is surrounded by mountains, native bush, beaches and rivers to pursue such activities as sea and river kayaking, scuba diving, rock climbing and skiing. Students can gain internatioanlly recognised qualifications through the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and a variety of professional qualifications.
Fees
Registration NZ$400 one-off charge; Annual Tuition Fees NZ$11,500; Pastoral Care and Homestay Administration Annual Fees NZ$1,200; Annual Insurance NZ$500; Homestay NZ$220 per week; Student Expenses Account (for uniform, trips, stationary, etc) NZ$1,500 per year.
