Murrays Bay Intermediate has long experience in catering for International Students from many countries. Situated on Auckland’s North Shore, just 15 minutes drive from Auckland Central City, Murrays Bay Intermediate isknown by the New Zealand Ministry of Education and throughout New Zealand as a school who promotes excellence.
We offer a world class curriculum, facilities, music school and sports academy with leading state of the art technology. The school is able to enrol students who are living or not living with their parents in New Zealand. Students aged 11 years to 13 years are welcome to enrol. Students participate in all aspects of the school.
English Learning Programmes
English learning programmes are taught at the appropriate levels - beginner to advanced, up to 5 hours a week in small groups, the rest in the normal classroom situation. For the balance of the time, English second language students are integrated into classrooms with New Zealand students from the first day of attendance at the school. Teachers are highly qualified, experienced and caring. After school classes are also available.
Student Support
The school prioritises the care of international students providing first language support staff to ensure the welfare of students. Pastoral care staff will meet with your child regularly and also visit their New Zealand homes.Student advisors are available 24 hours a day to help and support international students.
Accommodation
Students may live with their parents, or their friends or the school can supply a homestay. The School’s Homestay programme has available quality homes with caring New Zealand homestay families.
