Christchurch - Canterbury

Christchurch - Canterbury

Christchurch is the main centre of the Canterbury region, an elegant old city close to the Southern Alps.

Our programme has many benefits:

You will be a university student from the first day you arrive: You will have access to all university student facilities such as computer labs, language labs, the library, student support, medical centre, the student union, and sports facilities. An extensive orientation programme in your first week will help you to settle into life in a new country and study at university.

We have direct pathways into Foundation and degree study: Most students apply for entry to their degree programme before commencing language study. Once an offer of place conditional on English language has been obtained, the University's language courses provide direct entry into your further study, without the anxiety and frustration of external language examinations such as IELTS or TOEFL* .

*Please note that some degreeprogrammes such as Teaching still require IELTS so please ensure you check the specific requirements of entry for the programme you are applying for.

You will be taught by highly experienced teachers: All of our teachers are highly qualified with a wealth of experience gained both locally and internationally. Up to date teaching methods are employed, and a maximum class size of 14 ensures that you are able to work closely with your teachers.

If you study hard you will have the opportunity to fast track: If you undertake one of our English language courses and perfom very well in your studies you may be able to advance to the next level after completing only half of your course.
