Our school motto 'Virtute Experiamur', or Strength Through Experience, is the underlying theme behind our teaching at Westlake Girls. The curriculum is designed to support the personal development of each student so that she may fulfil her potential in as many fields as possible, through a wide range of academic, cultural, social and recreational activities.
Location and Facilities.
Our school is sited in 10 hectares of landscaped grounds on Auckland's North Shore and very close to cafes and beaches. Our facilities include classrooms equipped with the latest Audio Visual / Multimedia and ICT technologies, a comprehensive computer network, music suite, science laboratories, drama room, dance studio, swimming pool, fitness room and gymnasiums.
Academic - Years 9 to 13.
Our teaching staff come from a wide range of backgrounds and offer an enthusiastic, supportive and welcoming environment for all students. The school has developed an excellent reputation for the teaching of mathematics, sciences and languages and many of our former students who majored in these subjects have had distinguished university careers.

To help students whose first language is not English, EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and ESOL ( English for Students of Other Languages) is offered and taught by registered teachers who have additional ESOL qualifications

Students may live with their parents, a family member or close friend of the family. Westlake Girls also have caring families who have been carefully inspected and police checked (vetted). These families encourage the student to practise English in a caring environment.
