IAL has a well-equipped campus in Auckland, at 42 Atkinson Ave, Otahuhu The campus is near public transport, eating places and shopping. Our campus is in the heart of a large Pacific Island Community area of Auckland but only a few minutes to many points of interest.
IALs student population is diverse with
international and domestic students,
Students from 17 to 60
school-leavers and mature students,
people with no qualifications
and people with existing qualifications.
We approach learning with a mix of academic components, cultural experiences and extra-curricular activities. Our aim is to provide students with knowledge, skills and attitude to succeed in their chosen careers. Several courses include industry work experience (paid and unpaid) before graduation. Tutors have both academic and industry experience.
IAL is a signatory to the Code of Practice for Pastoral Care. Our support staff has experience dealing with people across the range of our diverse population. We are prepared to take the extra steps in assisting all our students to achieve their potential. We also keep parent's and agents informed on the student's performance and attendance.
Our programmes:
- Computing - Diplomas in Computing Level 5 and Level 6, CompTIA and Microsoft qualifications and National Diploma in Computing providing completion of both levels 5 & 6.
- Hospitality - National Certificate level 3 and National Diploma in Hospitality Management Level 5
- Electrical - Certificate Electrical Engineering level 3
- Health - National Certificate in Support of the Older Person Level 3, leading to support roles.
- Call Centre - National Certificate in Contact Centre Operations Level 3
- Business - Certificate in Office Administration and Computing Level 3, Certificate in Small Business Level 4 and Diploma in Business Level 5.
Careers and Pathways
- IAL has working relationships with industry organisations, businesses and recruitment agencies to place students into work experience and provide post-graduate employment opportunities
- IAL offers pathways to ongoing academic studies. Diploma graduates can cross-credit their learning to Polytechnics in New Zealand. Hospitality Graduates may gain credits at DCT in Switzerland.
