Dannevirke High School

Dannevirke High School educates students from Years 9 to 13 in a variety of core and optional subjects to the pre-university level ofNCEA Level 3. International Students are accommodated in local carefully selected homeswithin walking distancefrom the school.

Subjects include: English/Drama; Mathematics(including Statistics and Calculus); Sciencesincluding biology, chemistry, physics, agriculture and horticulture; Economics, Accounting, Text and Information Management; FoodTechnology, Graphics, Maori, Music, Design Technology -(wood and metal); Art, Classics, Physical Education, History and Geography.

ESOL classesare available to all International Studentsas necessary. Extra tuition is available in Sciences, and Maths at no extra cost.

Private after-school tuition in a range of musical instruments can be arranged by the Director of International Students. There will be a cost for this tuition.

National Qualifications in NCEA Levels One .Two and Three are offered to International Students. Students in Year 13 may also choose to sit Independent Scholarship examinations.Extensive support is also offered in TOEFL and IELTS courses for interested students.

Students are encouraged to join in as fully as possible with the life of the schoolin sporting,cultural and leadership roles.
