Massey University

Massey University is New Zealand's largest university in relation to student numbers with nearly 40,000 students. It has an eighty year tradition of academic excellence across a wide range of disciplines following its early recognition as New Zealand's premier institution for agricultural and horticultural teaching and research. Location
Massey's campuses are located in Palmerston North, Auckland and Wellington. The original (1927) campus is located in the thriving provincial city of Palmerston North, known as the Student City. Massey's Auckland at Albany campus is just 15 minutes from the CBD and five minutes from the fabulous North Shore beaches. The Wellington campus is located in the city centre of New Zealand's Capital city, centre of Government and known for its cafes, lively cultural life and magnificent natural harbour.
Academic programmes: Undergraduate and Postgraduate
Massey is made up of five major Colleges: Business, Creative Arts, Education, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Sciences, and their associated 45 Academic Departments, Schools and Institutes. The University offers a comprehensive, innovative and flexible range of Diplomas and Undergraduate and Post-graduate degrees, focused towards national and international requirements. More than 800 students study at the PhD level.
Acharacteristic of many of Massey's professional degree programmes is their applied nature and close links with industry and professional sectors. Of particular interest to International students are the University programmes in:

Research
Massey University supports research in all Colleges through many specialised Institutes and 56 Research Centres and attracts external research funding each year. Massey is one of the top three New Zealand Universities for completed research degrees. The application of the latest research findings is common to all degrees. Massey is regarded internationally as a leader in many of the Applied Science research fields and is home to New Zealand's most powerful computer.
English Language
Each Massey campus has an English Language Centre which offers exciting, interactive English language courses and a range of preparatory programmes for university study. Programmes are specifically tailored to each student's English language level focussing on the key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. At higher levels students learn essay and report writing, academic reading and writing, and there is a focus on strategies and skills for effective oral communication.
Group and Tailored Programmes
Every yearover 250 students from around the world attend group courses and experience New Zealand student life at the English Language Centre. International agencies, universities and private companies arrange for groups to attend courses at the Centre which incorporate English classes, exciting cultural experiences and/or tuition in specific disciplines such as environmental studies, aviation or education.
Foundation Studies
Massey University's bridging programmes, the Certificate of Foundation Studies and the Certificate of University Preparation are designed and delivered by university lecturers in each discipline to ensure students are well-prepared for the next stage of their academic careers. Successful completion of either certificate qualifies students for university entrance at undergraduate level.
