Bay of Plenty, New Zealand

  • Welcome

Bordered by golden beaches, the Bay of Plenty enjoys year-round sunshine and is a major fruit growing region. The city of Tauranga is one of New Zealand’s busiest ports.

‘The Bay’, as it is known to locals, is a favourite holiday spot for Aucklanders who flock there in huge numbers for summer beach parties and outdoor concerts. It’s a great place for surfing and other water sports.

In your study breaks you can enjoy big game fishing, horse riding and white water rafting. Or soak in natural hot pools and visit an active volcano – situated a safe distance off the coast.

  • Rafting Wairoa

Enjoy the thrill of one of New Zealand’s best Whitewater rafting trips on the Wairoa River in New Zealand's central North Island. This is one the locals love and it is recognised worldwide for its stunning rock and tree lined gorge that combines turbulent rapids with exciting drops to produce top white water action.

  • Surf’s up Waihi

Waihi Beach offers nine kilometres of white sand, and one of the safest surf beaches in New Zealand. Relax on the beach and enjoy the sunshine or try more adventurous activities such as boogie boarding, kayaking or kite boarding.

  • Views from Mt Maunganui

Rising to 232 metres above sea level, the mountain dominates Tauranga’s skyline and provides visitors with not only breathtaking views of the coastline but also a choice of walks. The 3.4 kilometre base track is an easy stroll and there are close-up sea views all the way; the summit track is more challenging, but you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of ocean, beach and city from the top.
