New Zealand Educated Animator on Hollywood Fast Track
Monday, 22 December 2008
Vangala Manoj had lost interest in his schooling in India and left a bachelor degree unfinished, but he revitalised his future by coming to New Zealand to study at Natcoll (National College of Design and Technology). Now the skills he learned in NZ have given him a stellar start to his career in film.
After spending two years at Natcoll earning a Diploma in Animation, Vangala was able to join the highly respected US animation company "Rhythm and Hues" at their Indian offices in Hyderabad. He began working as a modeler on the animated feature "Happy Feet", and has gone on to work on other blockbuster films including "The Golden Compass", "The Incredible Hulk", and "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor".
Vangala has already moved up from his modeling work to become a technical director. He credits his time at Natcoll in New Zealand with his impressive success.
