Hamilton and indeed New Zealand is a great place to live and study, with the longest river in NZ, The Waikato River flowing through the middle of the city. The city is situated in the heart of a major agriculture region and is only 45 minutes from West Coast beaches (Raglan), famous for their surfing and fishing, The coromandel with it’s pristine beaches are one a half hours away, as are Mount Maunganui and Tauranga, two popular summer vacation areas.
Centrally located in the North Island, Hamilton is also within easy travelling distance of Auckland, and only three hours from the top North Island ski resorts. New Zealand has often been described as a ‘small world’ with the environment ranging from mountains to beaches, snow to geysers, ancient forests to hot mud pools. Where else could you go surfing and skiing in the same day?
As the fourth largest city in New Zealand, Hamilton has all the facilities you would expect and with a vibrant cultural and café life. There are shopping malls, late night bars and clubs, movie theatres (including a special art house cinema), an art gallery, a museum, live theatres, a zoo, and major aquatic centres. Hamilton will also host the New Zealand leg of the V8 motorsport event from 2008.
The climate is great too. Summer reaches the mid 20’s, and winter is mild. This makes it fantastic for leisure pursuits and the all-important Kiwi summer barbeques.
Wintec is an excellent place to develop your career while enjoying a wonderful safe and cosmopolitan way of life.
