Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (4 years)
The College offersfour majors in the undergraduate Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programme: Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Fashion Design Photography, Film/Video.
Postgraduate Programmes
Master of Fine Arts - two years, low residency
Master of Artsin Arts Administration -two years, low residency
Master of Artsin Arts Therapy -two years, low residency
Master of Arts in Arts Therapy (Clinical) -three years, low residency
Entry Requirements
Bridging Certificate of Art and Design (Foundation)
A full time one year course. No formal prerequisites, as this course is aimed at preparing students with English as a second language for tertiary arts and design study in New Zealand. Students must turn 17 in their first year of study and hold an IELTS level of 4.5.
Certificate of Art and Design (Foundation)
A 20 week full time course. Students must turn 17 in their first year of study and hold an IELTS level of 5.0 if English is a second language.
Certificate of Art and Design - 1st year BFA exit qualification
Diploma of Art and Design - 2nd year BFA exit qualification
Diploma of Art & Design (Advanced)- 3rd year BFA exit qualification
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (4 years)
Students enrol in our BFA regardless of when they plan to step out of the programme. In the first year students must hold NCEA Level 2 (minimum) or equivalent, preferably in an arts subject (this may be waived for students over the age of 20). Students will be asked to submit a portfolio of 14-24 creative works in an interview. If you have studied at another institute and wish to enter the BFA, you too will be asked to provide a portfolio and recognition of prior learning will be considered.
