Special Character

Pakuranga College is a large co-educational secondary school with a roll of approximately 2100. In all national examinations our students have consistently been in the top group in the country. Students are drawn from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds.

Campus Location

Pakuranga College is situated in the coastal suburb of Bucklands Beach in the eastern area of Auckland.

Pakuranga College is acknowledged as being one of the leading schools in the country in its progressive use of technology in learning. A fully computerised library system gives students the full benefit of information technology including Internet access.

Academic Programme

A wide range of subjects is provided within the framework of qualifications outlined by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. There is a pupil-centred curriculum which is a balanced blend of academic, cultural, creative, practical and recreational subjects.

Programme for International Students

Pakuranga College is much sought after by international students. Highly regarded programmes in ESOL offer special assistance at all levels. Students with little Englishmay beoffered a short intensive English course on entry to the college.

Accommodation

Homestay accommodation is available in comfortable middle class homes.

Fees

The tuition fee for 2006 is NZ$12,800 incl GST. This covers tuition, textbooks and most school activities. Extra costs may be: stationery, uniform (Years 9 to 12), examination entry fees and class material fees in some practical subjects.
