Educational Institutions

Epsom Girls Grammar

Only about sixty international students are at EGGS at any one time. With an overall roll of about 2000, International students have a good chance of mixing with the real New Zealand in all its diversity at our school rather than just other international students.

Auckland

Auckland

Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, with 1.3 million people.

Wide variety of subjects

Epsom Girls Grammar School, established in 1917, offers a wide variety of subjects. The academic can challenge themselves with subjects such as physics and Latin. The internationally minded can learn languages such as Maori, German, French, Spanish and Japanese. There are also many special interest courses e.g. photography and drama.

Wide range of activities

EGGS offers a wide range of activities outside the classroom. The sporty can choose from 42 different sports played in the school (availability subject to sports season). Outdoor education and camps are integrated into our programme.
There is a wide range of cultural activities. Musicians can play with two school orchestras, many bands and other small music groups from quartets to jazz to rock. Free musical tuition is available. There are many cultural groups from the Pacific and Asian cultures in the school. The school has a vigorous drama and dance programme. For instance, in 2007 EGGS staged an outstanding production of Cabaret with Auckland Grammar School.

Excellent academic success

We are proud of the self-motivation, self-confidence and independence we foster in our students. We give our students an excellent educational foundation for further learning as the results gained by our school leavers in the university study prove.
