The Sports Institute has academies in rugby (endorsed by Graham Henry, current coach of the All Blacks), hockey, swimming, basketball, golf and soccer. The golf academy operates in conjunction with the Titirangi Golf Club and the swimming academy is in partnership with the Waterhole Swimming Club. All academies have high performance specialist coaches. The soccer and hockey academies have coaches with international experience.

Our students are well prepared for future tertiary study in a wide range of fields including photography, graphics, design and sports science.

We are a boy’s only school and believe that boys learn best in a single sex environment.

All students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.

We have our sister-school (Kelston Girls College) close by and we work together for social, cultural and some sports events.

Kelston Boys High School offers an Academic Institute for able Year 9 students and a Music Academy for musicians. Academic streams have the opportunity to do Cambridge in Mathematics. Traditional subjects such as Latin, Classical Studies and Physics are also offered.

Friendly homestay accommodation is available with local families within a close distance from the school.

Students who enroll in Kelston Boys are expected to work hard and make the most of their opportunities.
