South Pacific College of Natural

The South Pacific College of Natural Therapies (SPCNT) is New Zealand's first and foremost provider of natural health programmes, and welcomes international students who wish to gain a qualification in natural medicine.

Auckland

Auckland

Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, with 1.3 million people.

Established in 1940, SPCNT is NZQA accredited and approved to offer the qualifications of:

  • Diploma in Naturopathy
  • Diploma in Herbal Medicine

Four papers from Charles Sturt University, New South Wales, Australia are included in the diploma/s, which allows SPCNT students to also receive the degree:

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary Medicine)

The qualifications are studied concurrently over 3 years full-time face to face at our brand new, purpose built premises in Auckland.

On completion of the qualifications, graduates have obtained positions as natural health practitioners in their own or shared health practices; as consultants in natural medicine companies; in retail; in spa and beauty complexes; on cruise ships; and as educators.

When you study with SPCNT you benefit from our many years of experience as practitioners and educators.

Our class sizes are small - you never get lost in the crowd.

We give our students a personalised support service - if you have problems studying we help you to become successful.

Our lecturers are highly qualified and experienced. We teach an educationally sound, integrated programme that builds year by year on previous learning, with a balanced mix of theory and practice.

The knowledge and skills you are taught at the College are underpinned by the latest national and international research. Our Diplomas incorporate what practising naturopaths and herbalists tell us are the most relevant, appropriate and useful skills and knowledge.

We teach students to review information critically and to make informed decisions based on a range of data.

We use many different strategies to assess student progress - not just examinations.

Our third year students practise on real clients while being supervised by an experienced practitioner in our well-equipped Clinics.

We have a well-stocked library and a highly qualified and experienced librarian on site.

Our graduates get jobs.
