Spotswood College is situated in New Plymouth, in the heart of the Taranaki province. The college is within kilometres of some of the best surfing beaches in New Zealand and a little further to the ski slopes of Mount Taranaki and the Egmont National Park. Overlooking the Tasman SeaNew Plymouth is Taranaki's largest city with a population of 75,000.The climate is mild with warm summers and cool winters. New Plymouth wasrecently voted- the Best and Most Liveable Community in the World (Liveable Communities Awards, Nov 2008)
Facilities:
Spotswood College has900 students including 30 - 35International Students. Our grounds cover 16 hectares of well cared for grounds incorporating gardens, grassed areas, five sports fields used for Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, Cricket and Athletics, a beach volleyball court, netball and tennis courts, swimming pool, gymnasium and music suite with recording studio.. We encourage International Students to become involved in sports and cultural activities.

Each student's English level / personal goals are considered when courses are selected. This includes intensive ESOL support with specialised teachers in small classes and individual attention.

Strong student support is provided by senior staff members who are responsible for the well being of International Students, along with the Director and Homestay Cooordinator. Additionally overseas students are catered for by the college's guidance system.

- Our homestay service enables you to become part of a caring New Zealandfamily.
- Living with a local family while you are studying at Spotswood Collegeprovides you with daily opportunities to practise your English skills. You will enjoy all the comforts of family life, plus all the support and encouragement you need to do well in your academic course.
- A Homestay Registration form must be filled in and sent to Spotswood College. All homestay fees must be paid in full, together with your tuition fees.
