You can't get any farther from New Zealand than the northern island nation of Iceland. For Victoria University graduate Signý Björg Guðlaugsdóttir it was worth the journey.
Signý is the very first graduate of Victoria's new Digital Media Design major in the Bachelor of Design programme. The inaugural class in this major includes 12 students.
Signý says the new major covers everything to do with design in computers, including; electronics, dynamic web design, graphic design, cinematics, programming, communications theory and culture, augmented reality and real time-social networks. Her final year project was an interactive installation using electronic equipment and a square of carpet titled Moments from an invisible realm.
