New Zealand qualifications recognised in fifty countries

New Zealand’s qualifications now have equivalent status in more than 50 countries, through the Lisbon Convention of Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Area. New Zealand’s request to be included was unanimously approved in mid-2007.

New Zealand’s qualifications now have equivalent status in more than 50 countries, through the Lisbon Convention of Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Area.  New Zealand’s request to be included was unanimously approved in mid-2007.

The agreement means that there are increased opportunities for students with New Zealand tertiary qualifications in study and employment in signatory countries. 

The Lisbon Convention is recognised as setting international best practice for assessing and comparing qualifications from around the world. Signatories include the United Kingdom, France , Germany , Italy , the United States , Canada and Australia .
