Marina Monarrez

The natural beauty, for which New Zealand is renowned, was the initial attraction for Marina Monarrez, a secondary school student from the United States.

"My experience so far in New Zealand has already been something I will never forget and always cherish. I have made a strong group of friends and feel right at home".

In her leisure time, Marina enjoys surfing and going to the gym.
"Highlights from studying here is surfing here. The beaches are gorgeous and surfing here is definitely a must hobby to do...but mostly I enjoy spending time with my Kiwi friends".

At this stage, Marina has set her sights on a career that will lead to travelling, perhaps as a public speaker with a communications major. "New Zealand has made me want to travel more, and of course, return here".

Once her New Zealand education of completed, Marina will return home to complete and graduate high school after one year. "Then hopefully I can travel some more after, and maybe come back before I go to a university".

"To any student considering coming to New Zealand to study, I would say not to consider, but to take the plunge because only good can come from such an unbelievable experience as this. It has already changed me for the better."
