Gain a sound knowledge of advanced veterinary nursing and intensive care nursing. Apply what you've learnt at the two veterinary clinics on campus.

The Diploma in Veterinary Nursing provides you with the skills to work as a responsible and knowledgeable veterinary nurse.

Throughout the programme, you acquire a sound knowledge of advanced veterinary nursing and intensive care nursing, and get to spend a substantial amount of time in clinical practice. You apply what you've learnt at Unitec's Veterinary Hospital and the Veterinary Specialist Group Hospital, right here on the Mt Albert campus. We also work closely with Auckland Zoo, where you may be able to gain some practical experience.

You develop an understanding of animal welfare, behaviour, nutrition, husbandry and breeding. Find out how to educate your clients on animal health issues, and learn about preventative health clinics. You also explore how to manage and promote a veterinary clinic.
