Certificate in Tourism

Would you like to work in tourism? The Certificate in Tourism enables you to kick-start your career in the tourism industry in as little as one semester. You can also study the programme on a part-time basis, enabling you to continue working while you study. The Certificate in Tourism is endorsed by the NZQA.

Throughout your studies, you develop the skills you need for an entry role in the tourism industry, so that you'll be ready to hit the ground running.

Gain an understanding of what the tourism industry is all about and how tourism businesses operate. Find out how to ensure tourists enjoy their time in New Zealand, and develop the communication and negotiation skills to deal with international and domestic visitors.

Learn to present yourself professionally and further your ability to deal with pressure.

Once you've completed this programme and want to continue your studies, you will be eligible to move into Unitec's Certificate in Travel Sales and Automation or the Diploma in Tourism Leadership and Management.

English Language: Have an overall IELTS band score (Academic) of no less than 5.5, or a TOEFL score of no less than 525; or equivalent.
